Cookie Inventory

The Cookie Inventory is where you manage every cookie CookieRay knows about. You can view discovered cookies, edit their details, and sort them into the right categories so your banner reflects accurate information.

Categorizing cookies

Each cookie can be placed into one of four categories:

• Necessary
• Analytical
• Functional
• Marketing

A cookie that has no category yet shows as Uncategorized. Cookies discovered by the Cookie Scanner land in the inventory, and many arrive already categorized from CookieRay’s bundled reference data. Review them and fix the rest. Handling of uncategorized cookies is set under Settings → Uncategorized Cookie Handling.

Managing entries

The inventory supports the actions you need to keep things tidy:

• Edit a cookie’s details and category, one at a time.
• Delete cookies you don’t want listed, with Bulk Actions for deleting selected cookies, all uncategorized cookies, or all cookies.
• Run new scan from the same Bulk Actions menu.

Categories you set by hand are remembered and reapplied after later scans while Reuse Saved Cookie Categories is on in Settings.

Adding custom cookies

Use Manual Add when a cookie wasn’t discovered automatically or when you want to document something specific. The Match name as regex switch lets a single entry cover a family of related cookie names. The Script pattern field lets you add a script address pattern that Strict mode should hold until consent.

A practical workflow

1. Run a scan to populate the inventory with discovered cookies.
2. Review the list and assign each cookie to a category.
3. Use a regex entry where one cookie rule should match several names.
4. Add any custom cookies with Manual Add.
5. Delete anything that doesn’t belong.
