Cookie Inventory

The Cookie Inventory is where you manage every cookie CookieRay knows about. You can view discovered cookies, edit their details, and sort them into the right categories so your banner reflects accurate information.

Categorizing cookies

Each cookie can be placed into one of four categories:

• Necessary
• Analytical
• Functional
• Marketing

Cookies discovered by the Cookie Scanner land in the inventory ready for you to categorize.

Managing entries

The inventory supports the actions you need to keep things tidy:

• Edit individual cookie details.
• Bulk-categorize multiple cookies at once.
• Delete cookies you don’t want listed.

Adding custom cookies

You can add custom cookies manually when a cookie wasn’t discovered automatically or when you want to document something specific. Where appropriate, custom cookies support regex pattern matching, so a single entry can cover a family of related cookie names.

A practical workflow

1. Run a scan to populate the inventory with discovered cookies.
2. Review the list and assign each cookie to a category.
3. Use bulk-categorize to handle groups of similar cookies quickly.
4. Add any custom cookies manually, using a regex pattern where one entry should match several names.
5. Delete anything that doesn’t belong.
